Citation M2, Citation CJ2+, Citation CJ3, Citation CJ4
The Citation M2 market continues to be very active. After a phenomenal Q4, which saw 16 sales, the activity has remained steady in 2021. Q2 saw five sales, down from nine the previous quarter. Inventory remains steady, with an average of 11 units listed for sale for both Q1 and Q2. After holding steady for the past several quarters, the pricing saw a moderate gain in Q2. This would be a good time to sell an M2, as inventory levels are relatively low.
There were only eight CJ2+ aircraft for sale in Q2, which is half of the amount available in Q4. There were eight sales in Q2, which is the second most for a quarter in over two years. After holding steady for two quarters, pricing for this market saw a moderate gain for Q2. This would be a good time to sell as inventory levels continue to remain low.
The Citation CJ3 market is the most active of all of the CJ series. There was an average of only 14 units available for sale this past quarter, which is a record low quarterly number. 17 units traded last quarter, which is 14 more than the previous quarter. Pricing for this market has firmed considerably. This is an excellent time to sell a CJ3, as the inventory levels are at record lows.
The Citation CJ4 market continues to be strong. Q2 averaged six units available for sale, which is four fewer than the previous quarter and the lowest number in over two years. 13 sold in Q2, which is the most in a single quarter in over two years. After remaining steady for the past three quarters, pricing had a modest increase in Q2. This would be a good time to sell a CJ4, as the inventory has been picked over, and prices are increasing.
