Citation M2, Citation CJ2+, Citation CJ3, Citation CJ4
The Citation M2 market continues to be very active. Q4 saw 11 sales, which was the most in 2021. Inventory has held steady for the past four quarters, with an average of 11 units listed for sale. Pricing has seen moderate gains throughout 2021. This would be a good time to purchase an M2, as this is one of the few markets with a decent selection of inventory.
The CJ2+ market has rapidly been decreasing in availability for the past five quarters. There were only four aircraft available in Q4, which is only 1/4th the number for sale a year ago. There were five sales in Q4, which is the least amount of sales in over a year. As with most markets, pricing for the CJ2+ saw a significant gain for Q4. This would be a good time to sell, as inventory levels continue to remain low.
The Citation CJ3 market is the most active of all of the CJ series. There was an average of only four units available for sale this past quarter, which is a record low quarterly number. 16 units traded last quarter, which is 9 more than the previous quarter. Pricing for this market has increased considerably. This is an excellent time to sell a CJ3, as the inventory levels are at record lows.
The Citation CJ4 market continues to be strong. Q4 averaged six units available for sale, which is ten fewer than a year ago. Seven sold in Q4, which is four fewer than the previous quarter. Pricing continues to increase, with moderate gains in the past three quarters. This would be a good time to sell a CJ4, as the inventory has been picked over, and prices are increasing.
